Chinese and Israeli academics predict the AI boom will increase global e-waste by 3% to 12% by 2030, or up to 2.5M metric tons of additional e-waste each year  —  Most e-waste is never recycled.  Data center upgrades for AI projects could significantly add to the problem, researchers say.
